Runner Duck Sangiovese 2015 Matakana
From our small block of 20 plus year old Sangiovese vines based on the restaurant plot. With lifted aromatics of violets, black dorris plum and sweet roasted cocoa, this classic Italian variety shows that it has found a happy home in Matakana. The dark fruited and savory spiced palate is focused around a fine line of juicy acidity that highlights this wine’s ability to pair beautifully with a range of foods.
Dense supple tannins are coated with notes of mocha and brambly fruit, rewarding youthful drinking and carefully cellaring, alike.
Runner Duck Black Velvet 2014 Matakana
Classic dark red from an exceptional year. Made from the traditional French varieties this wine exhibits cassis/blackberry, cedar and cigar box, dark spiced notes of anise and mace with a beguiling minerality. Dense palate with a lovely interplay of tannin and acidity giving poise and focus. This wine has an immediately attractive yet complex profile that will develop over time, providing rich reward to those with patience to cellar the wine for a number of years
Runner Duck Passion 2015 Matakana
In the style of French Northern Rhone Syrah, this wine shows a lovely perfume of raspberry, blueberry, cocoa and cracked black pepper. Long and smooth with fine grained tannins, the palate abounds with rich notes of black forest gateau and toasted coconut. A complex wine of structure and density that will suit spiced dishes and game meats especially well.
The Knight 2011 Matakana
This wine is made from the traditional and classic French varietals of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot. This hand tended hand picked blend is a medium heavy weighted wine with a ruby hue in colour and lifted violet notes of bramble and dark fruit on the nose. Its distinctive character is soft and mouth filling on first taste, generous in fruit with layers of underlying complexity, toast quality oak supple integrated acid and has a focused lingering finish. Great to drink at any time with wild game, fish dishes and spiced meats. Now only available for sale by the bottle at Plume Restaurant.
Plume Sauvignon Blanc 2016 Marlborough
Plume Sauvignon Blanc 2016 from the Wairau Valley in Marlborough. Bursting with passionfruit, black currant, grapefruit and lemongrass aromas, this wine is a classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. The wine drives across the palate with a refreshing vibrancy of tropical fruits, gooseberry and lemon citrus flavours. The beautiful fragrance of this wine will complement all sea food!
Runner Duck Pinot Gris 2020 Matakana
From a near perfect growing season, this wine shows classic Pinot Gris aromas of pear, nectarine, gingerbread and lifted floral/blossom notes. The palate has concentrated pear and stone fruits with a rich full structure, a line of delicate minerality with a long clean finish. A perfect match for fresh seafood such as Mahurangi oysters, Mediterranean styled salads or even a varied antipasto platter.

100% pure grape juice – not from concentrate. No added sugar, no added preservatives or additives. Best served chilled. Once opened must be refrigerated. Add soda water for Sparkling Grape Juice or add crushed ice and a bit of vodka for a great cooling summer drink! Direct from our vineyard – very much in demand by mums-to-be, non-drinkers or those having a day off from alcohol! Only available by the glass in the restaurant.

Runner Duck Albarino 2019 Matakana
This Matakana Albarino has a vibrant, varietal burst of zesty lemon, lime and orange blossom citrus aromas. Complemented by notes of fleshy white peach, fresh cut ginger and spice. The palate is fresh, lively and beautifully poised with a natural acidity complementing the array of ripe orchard fruits and spicy complexity with a lick of salt! An effortlessly versatile wine that highlights the natural affinity for Albarino in the Matakana region.
Runner Duck Rose 2021 Matakana
Pale salmon pink, this wine has lifted aromas of citrus blossom and jasmine with underlying raspberry, red currant and red plum fruits. Subtle notes of rock candy and Provencal herbs add a sweet, savory complexity. Bright and juicy berry fruits drive the palate. Enticing ripe and refreshing summer fruits linger on a long and clean finish.
Runner Duck Chardonnay 2020 Matakana
A lovely green gold colour with aromas of white peach, orange blossom, cashew and inviting nutmeg spice. A clean, ripe stone fruit entry to the palate, layers of peach, mandarin, orange blossom, cashew and warm spice – all beautifully balance by poised acidity. This is a ripe fruited Chardonnay with harmonious integration of French oak, poised to complement any seafood, poultry or Mediterranean styles salads.
